Remove glazing stops. A chisel works well for this application. Note the flat edge of chisel is against the stop.

Loosen screws to allow movement of the sweep, then push sweep down to so that fins make contact with sill crown. Do not push too tight as this could cause the fins to wear out prematurely. Re-tighten screws.

Release tilt latch and tilt sash inward to horizontal. Place both hands on sash as shown in Fig.1. Lift sash to mid point of opening before tilting in to remove.
